If I had the chance, I’d give 10 stars. Being very familiar with Mediterranean cuisine, I never ever experienced such an amazing food. Definitely a must try. If I come to NYC again, no matter how long I stay, I’ll make sure to come back to this place. Every single dish we ordered, had a unique taste and was very creative. Thank you so much for this experience.
Shukette is our new favorite obsession. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about pairings. They food is always on point and each bite is to be savored accordingly. While the presentation may not be traditional for some of the plates that has never had even the slightest impact on the amazingly calculated flavor profiles in each dish. I cannot recommend this place enough. The vibe is also just right… 90’s and early 2000’s hip hop fill the air and keep the tempo for those killer bites as The Shuk is dropped off as it’s made, nice and hot and ready to surprise your taste buds. I hope Shukette can keep up the pace they’ve set for the coming years and maybe think about opening another location in Brooklyn. ;)
Outstanding food and staff members.
Visited many times and have never been disappointed. Staff members are always very helpful and personable. If you are seated at the counter, you get to see that 6-7 cooks are managed by a chef to deliver outstanding food in front of your eyes. Great experience all around!
Loved this place. Felt like a proper New York scene.
They got us seated as fast as they could while we waited. Server was helpful with the menu and had good conversation. Atmosphere was awesome and we sat at the bar/kitchen-side, watching the chefs do their magic.
Food was incredible and the Atmosphere and music was fantastic. If you’re visiting and want a “New York” moment, I feel like this is the spot. It was worth the money.
Cocktails were on point as well.
I felt this place was the perfect mix of classy/modern/low key.
I think I've found my favourite Middle Eastern restaurant. Shukette offers a substantial menu, with plenty of vegetarian options. If I were to pick one thing that I enjoyed the most, it would be the Frena bread when paired with the Hummus. But everything I had was very tasty. The only thing I would not reorder is the Labneh. While I enjoyed it, it was quite a lot of yogurt to eat at once and I'd rather fill myself with other delicious dishes.
I definitely will return to Shukette at some point to try the other dishes I did not have this time. Stay tuned and follow for updates!
Pro tip: Shukette is almost always packed. Make reservation ahead of time if you don't want to wait an hour for a table.
I really enjoyed eating at Shukette! The restaurant’s interior made the experience that much better. For food we stuck mostly to the share plates. The standouts were the butter beans and smoked char dip. The dessert was also fantastic. Would recommend and will try my best to come again.
Such a great spot, no wonder it's been tough to get a table! Our wait was worth it and scored the best seats in the house to watch the chef in action. Every dish was delicious...I don't know where to begin but only to say, don't estimate even a simple order of fries! (Crispy, well seasoned, perfect with the garlic dip). The servers are great with guiding you, just enjoy and try it all!
Lively atmosphere even at 4:30 on a Sunday. Dined at the counter and enjoyed watching food be prepared in the open kitchen. The hummus was light and creamy, the roasted delicata squash and apples was superb and the lamb skewer our server recommended was excellent. Can’t wait to come back!
